  Thinking of joining Toastmasters ?

Gorey Toastmasters Club was founded in 2006 and today we have almost 30 members.
The club is going from strength to strength but we always welcome new members so if you feel that Toastmasters could be for you please come along to one of our meetings at The Ashdown Park Hotel on the 1st or 3rd Wednesday of each month. We meet at 8:00 O'Clock.

Santa Claus was the surprise Toastmaster at the pre-Christmas club meeting. EVP Mary Dillon is seen           introducing all the good little Gorey Toastmasters to Santa who generously gave presents to all.

Why do people join Toastmasters is one of the most frequently asked questions we get. When we ask this of our members the answer we often receive back is “it helps me in my job”. Often people forget that it can be not what you say but how you say it that is important. Job Interviews and presentations at work are prime examples of this. In interviews it is important to make a good first impression and in the current climate it can be important when making presentations at work to put a ‘positive’ spin on the message being imparted.
Public speaking is probably something that most of us would rather not think about. But it is actually something we see or do nearly every day. It is something everyone has to do and many people do it seemingly without thinking. The usual occasions where we use public speaking would be: at mass / family functions / work / to name but a few. This is where Toastmasters can help.

Guests are welcome at every toastmaster meeting – FREE of charge. Gorey Toastmasters meet on the 1st and third Wednesdays of each month. Enniscorthy Toastmasters meet on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month. Wexford Toastmasters meet in White's Hotel on the 2nd and 4th Thursday each month. Together we make up Area 50 of Toastmasters International.

Becoming a better speaker.

Since 1924, Toastmasters International has helped millions of men and women become more confident in front of an audience. Our network of clubs and their learn-by-doing program are sure to help you become a better speaker and leader. Why pay thousands of dollars for a seminar when you can join a Toastmasters club for a fraction of the cost and have fun in the process?

Don’t worry! Everyone in a Toastmasters club was once at the level you are now. The environment is friendly and supportive, and the self-paced program allows you to build confidence with each speaking assignment. And you’ll love the applause! Constructive evaluation is the heart of the Toastmasters program. Each time you give a prepared speech, an evaluator will point out strengths and suggest improvements. At first you’ll be applauded for your effort; later you’ll be applauded for your skill.
